About Grow And Tell

Cannabis genetics are a tangled, beautiful mess. Strains get renamed, lineages get mixed up, breeders disappear, and the same plant ends up listed three different ways across three different seed banks.

Our goal is two things at once:

• Preserve the history. Map strain lineages as a connected graph so you can trace a modern cultivar back to its landrace roots and forward to its descendants.
• Push the frontier. Give working breeders and growers the tools to publish authoritative strain info, log real grows, and share what actually performs. No more hopping from site to site, chasing discords that get deleted, Reddit posts that get removed, Instagram accounts that vanish overnight.

We want to be as transparent as possible so you know what we're optimizing for. These different sources of revenue help us keep the lights on. If you ever want more details, feel free to reach out to us.

• Affiliate breeder links. When a breeder lists a seed-purchase URL for one of their strains, we include information that you came from this website. If the destination has an affiliate program we're part of, we earn a small commission when you buy. The link goes to wherever the breeder told us to send you (we don't rewrite destinations or inject our own).
• Premium tier for growers. Monthly subscription, with a discount if you pay annually. Unlocks phenotype hunting (multi-plant tracking), custom QR codes that link to your journals that you can share, a sort boost on your journals, and an ad-free experience. Premium is totally optional — the core site stays free. See /grower/premium for details.
• Display ads. The ads on the site are meant to be clearly marked as ads and never disguised as content. Premium accounts won't see them.

• We don't sell your data. We don't share your journals, photos, or identity with third parties. You retain the rights to all images, we do not own your content.
• We don't accept payment to rank a strain higher or feature it. The lineage graph reflects reality, not who paid.
• We don't lock breeders into using our affiliate links. The purchase URL belongs to the breeder; we link to wherever they want.
• We don't fake breeders. Verification is done by real humans. Admins approve breeder accounts before they can publish.
